Mrs. Chinelo Anohu-Amazu, a lawyer, obtained an LL.B degree from the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus in 1996, a B.L from the Nigerian Law School in 1997 and an LL.M in Computer and Communications Law from the London School of Economics in 2000. Mrs. Anohu-Amazu also studied in many prestigious institutions such as the Columbia University Graduate School in 2008, the J. F. Kennedy School of Government of the Harvard University in 2007 and the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania in 2002. Mrs. Anohu-Amazu served as Acting Director-General of the National Pension Commission from 14 December, 2012 until 31sept 2014 when she was confirmed by the Senate of the federal Republic of Nigeria as the substantive Director General Of PENCOM.

During her period of stewardship as Acting DG of PenCom, she recorded major achievements, which included the growth of registration of contributors from 5.39 million in December 2012 to 5.89 million as at October, 2013. Total pension assets under management also grew by N63 billion as at October, 2013. She also established the Commission’s Contact Centre to improve customer service for the pension industry and established the Commission’s 6 zonal offices, 5 of which have been formally commissioned. Mrs. Anohu-Amazu also consolidated the Commission’s linkages and affiliations with global fora of pension regulators and professionals such as the World Pension Summit (WPS), Amsterdam, the Netherlands; the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and the International Organization of Pension Supervisors (IOPS) with headquarters in Paris. Mrs. Anohu-Amazu served as a member of the Pension Reform Committee which produced the Draft Bill that was the basis for the Pension Reform Act 2004 and became the pioneer Commission Secretary/Legal Adviser of the PenCom.

She had hitherto served in various capacities at the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) including as a Transaction Manager on the Core Investor Sale of NICON-Hilton Hotel and Afribank Plc. She was the Head, Legal and Departmental Support Unit of the BPE and was also the Legal Advisor, Telecommunications Sector Reform Team and the Ports Sector Reform Team of the BPE. Mrs. Anohu-Amazu was a Consultant to the Bioresources Development and Conservation Program, Maryland and also served as a Legal Advisor/Marketing Executive at AS Financial Services, UK. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London.

Mrs. Anohu-Amazu comes from Anambra State and represents the South-East geopolitical zone.

Mr. Reuben Gilbert Omotowa, a Chartered Accountant, obtained a Bachelors Degree in Economics from the University of Ife in 1977 and an MBA Degree in Business Administration from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1982. He recently completed a 23 year service at the Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE) where he occupied several senior management positions. He served as a Deputy Director in BPE for 14 years out of which he acted as Director for three (3) years. He subsequently served as a full-fledged Director for six (6) years and also acted as the Director-General, BPE, in the absence of a substantive Director-General, from time to time, for about two (2) years Mr. Omotowa made significant contributions in several capacities while in BPE and participated in the privatisation of several public enterprises notable of which are NICON Insurance, NICON Luxury Hotel, Delta Steel Rolling Mills, Nigeria Mining Corporation, Jos, ASCON Onne, three paper mills, three sugar companies, PAN Kaduna, Volkswagen of Nigeria and the Nigeria Coal Corporation. He participated in the concessioning of 24 port terminals at the Nigerian Ports Authority and also led the evaluation teams for technical bids on the sale of some electricity distribution companies. He was a National Delegate to the Nigeria/Russia Biannual Commission meeting in Moscow, Russia in April 2001, a National Delegate to the Nigeria/Algeria Biannual Commission in March 2003 and also participated in the Africa/Asia Trade and Investment Forum in Japan in November, 2004.

Mr. Omotowa had substantial training in public enterprise reforms at various times in the United States, United Kingdom and South Africa. He is a member of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria.

Mr. Omotowa hails from Kogi State and represents the North-Central geopolitical zone.

Barrister (Prince) Adesoji Olaoba-Efuntayo, a lawyer, obtained a B.A. in History from the University of Port-Harcourt in 1981, an M.Sc in International Relations from the University of Ife in 1984, a LL.B degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 1993 and a B.L from the Nigerian Law School in 1995. He was the founding Provost of the Universal Gospel Divinity College, Ile Ife and served as a member of the Governing Council of the Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun.

Barrister (Prince) Olaoba-Efuntayo served as the Executive Chairman of the Ife North Local Government, Ipetumodu, Osun Satte and was a Special Adviser to the Osun State Government between 2006 and 2007. He was until his appointment, the Principal Counsel at Adesoji Olaoba-Efuntayo & Co.

Barrister (Prince) Olaoba-Efuntayo, the President and Founder, Cocoa Producers of Nigeria, is a member of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs and the Nigeria Bar Association. He hails from Osun State and represents the South-West geopolitical zone.

Professor Mohammed Ka’oje Abubakar, a Biochemist, obtained a B.Sc in Biochemistry in 1982, an M.Sc in Biochemistry in 1989 and a Ph.D in Biochemistry in 1994. He served as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology between 2010 and 2011 where he initiated and executed many projects which saw to the development of the Ministry under his stewardship. He was conferred with the Doctorate Fellowship of the Institute of Administrative Management of Nigeria and was honoured by the Federal Ministry of Health and UNICEF for his contributions to the nutrition of the child.

Prof. Abubakar was elected member, European Academy of Science for outstanding contributions to science and technology and voted amongst 2000 most outstanding intellectuals of the 21st Century by the International Biographical Centre, Cambridge. He was also conferred with a Merit Award on Education Policy and Administration by the Usman Danfodio University Alumni Association. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Science, Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Fellow, Solar Energy Society of Nigeria and Fellow, Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology.

Prof. Abubakar held various positions of responsibility including that of Director-General, Ministry of Health, Kebbi State, Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Education, Kebbi State, Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Health, Kebbi State and pioneer Vice-Chancellor, Kebbi State University of Science and Technology.

Prof. Abubakar is from Kebbi State and represents the North-West geopolitical zone.

Barrister Ebenezer Foby, a lawyer, obtained a B.A. in Literature from the University of Port-Harcourt in 1981, an LL.B degree from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt in 1988 and a B.L. from the Nigerian Law School in 1989.

He was the Administrative/Personnel Officer, Establishments, Pensions and Training Division of the Rivers State Civil Service between 1982 and 1988. He thereafter served as the Assistant Liaison Officer/Head of Administration and Protocol, Rivers State Liaison Office, Lagos, between 1988 and 1993. Barrister Ebenezer Foby served as the Secretary to the Rivers State Employment Centre, Port Harcourt in 1993 and subsequently retired from the Civil Service of Rivers State in the same year. Barrister Ebenezer Foby was the Principal/Managing Solicitor at Eben-Foby & Associates between 1991 and 2008. He has held various positions of responsibility including that of a Revenue Consultant to the Rivers State Government, between 2000 and 2002, Senior Technical Assistant to the Honourable Commissioner of Education, Rivers State, between 2008 and 2009, and Senior Technical Assistant to the Honourable Commissioner of Housing, Rivers State in 2009. Barrister Ebenezer Foby served as a Board Director at Enterprise Bank between 2011 and 2013. Before assuming office with the Commission, Barrister Foby served as the Managing Director/CEO of M-Benta Limited, a Building and General Contracting Company, as well as the Chairman, Board of Directors of Siva Bim, a General Contracting Company.

He has attended many prestigious courses including Board Corporate Governance Modern Practices (organised jointly by KPMG and AMCON), Retail Credit Risk Measurement and Control (organised by IIRME and the George Washington University), Enterprise Risk Management for Board Members and Non-Executive Directors (organised by IIRME and Business Risk Management Ltd.) and Corporate Governance Best Practices (organised by IIRME and the George Washington University).
